Garden Gurus
This worksheet is an engaging way to investigate area. Students design their own school garden using dot paper or a geoboard. Following the open ended questions, students will divide the area up to provide the most efficient use of space for gardens and walkways, labelling the measurements of each area, and calculating the amount of resources needed.

Learning goals
- We are learning to solve practical problems involving the perimeter and area of regular and irregular shapes using appropriate metric units.
- We are learning to calculate perimeter and area of rectangles using familiar metric units.
