English Unit: Contractions
This unit gives a great overview of contractions, providing a definition and plenty of examples to practise identifying and matching contractions. The worksheets provide numerous opportunities to practise matching, writing and using contractions in sentences. The unit also provides an assessment to test your knowledge and understanding of contractions at the conclusion of the unit.
Learning goals
- We are learning to understand that contractions are a part of informal language and that apostrophes of contraction are used to signal missing letters.
- We are learning to understand that apostrophes signal missing letters in contractions and apostrophes are used to show singular and plural possession.
