English Unit: Character Development in Narratives

This unit provides a great overview of the narrative strategy ‘show don’t tell’, encouraging the use of descriptive language to describe the characters, scenery and plot, whereby the reader may use their inferencing skills to comprehend the narrative.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to describe the settings in texts and character traits using descriptive adjectives that influence the mood of the narrative.
