Digitising Data
This worksheet is an activity that gets students used to putting data into spreadsheets and creating graphs electronically. It is a crucial part of scaffolding the final assessment activity. It can be used with any spreadsheet software like excel, numbers or sheets.
This worksheet is a part of a larger unit designed for Year 6 that helps students develop their statistical investigation skills by walking them through the necessary stages to plan, conduct and analyse a statistical investigation and then communicate their findings.
Learning goals
- We are learning to pose questions, collect and interpret categorical or numerical data by observation or survey.
- We are learning to interpret and compare data displays, including side-by-side column graphs, tables and diagrams for two categories (e.g. age, height) and compare the usefulness of each display for data interpretation.
