Comprehension Strategy: Questioning Rubric Year 4
This rubric assesses Year 4 students’ application of the Questioning comprehension strategy. It evaluates how effectively students generate before-, during- and after-reading questions; the range and depth of literal and inferential questions; clarity and accuracy of question formation; ability to answer using text evidence; and capacity to reflect on how questioning improves understanding. The rubric supports formative or summative assessment across written tasks, small-group activities, games or independent reading responses.
