Comprehension Strategy - Monitoring - Assessment
This engaging assessment task uses short-answer questions, based on a text, to develop student ability to monitor comprehension by questioning inconsistencies and actively making sense of the text. It is ideal for fostering critical thinking in upper primary students.
Learning goals
- We are learning to read texts and apply appropriate comprehension strategies to analyse information, e.g. predicting, confirming, monitoring meaning, skimming and scanning.
