This game is designed to assist young students with understanding and identifying statements, questions and exclamations.

This game is designed to be played in two different ways. It can be used as a whole class activity, in which students will play in pairs. Alternatively, it can be played in groups of 5 players allowing for it to be used successfully as a rotation activity.

Learning goals

  • We are learning to recognise the impact that facial expressions and gestures have when asking for and providing information, making offers, exclaiming, requesting and giving commands.
  • We are learning to understand the difference between commands, statements and questions (both open and closed).
  • We are learning to understand the purpose of punctuation in different sentence types.
  • We are learning to understand the purpose of punctuation in sentences.
